I believe Fall has finally arrived in southern Oklahoma to stay a while!
Most years, we get Fall teasers throughout September and even October for a few days when the weather is cool and we feel the need to pull out the sweaters and jackets and fix a big pot of soup and cornbread. And then...it warms back up and we wonder why we thought it was time to put away our flip-flops so soon.
But with Fall here to (hopefully) stay a while, I am excited about the cooler weather and all the fun Fall-ish things to do. I don't have a lot of Fall decorations that I pull out and put throughout the house. I'm not a gifted decorator anyway so, even if I had them, I don't know that my home would be better served by them. lol. But I do enjoy pulling down my mini-crockpot to fill with orange, cinnamon, and cloves, etc. so we can enjoy some wonderful Fall smells during our days here at home. I also bring out the blanket throws to cuddle under especially during the morning hours when the house is still cold from the night before. I came across an idea a few years ago at a craft fair that I have continued to do each year since. I buy candy corn and salted peanuts and place them together in a candy dish - tastes just like a Payday candy bar...with a Fall twist! I love it. Rachel has started knitting, so she is busy knitting scarves and already has one done for her dear mother. It's beautiful and I can't wait to begin wearing it around my neck to help keep me a little warmer this year!
So what do you do do when Fall weather arrives? Does it arrive early or late in your neck of the world? I would love to hear from you!
